Flower Baptism Cake

June 16, 2014

This weekend I made a really cute cake for some friends that were celebrating their first child’s baptism. My friend asked for a simple cake with white, pale pink and silver for the colors theme. She also wanted a dove somewhere on the cake and a cross for the baby. IMG_5390

This was a 9 in. vanilla cake with chocolate ganache filling and iced in vanilla buttercream. The cake was covered in white Satin Ice Fondant and all of the flowers were made of Satin Ice Gumpaste. I made the flowers at the beginning of the week so they had enough time to dry. The cross was sprayed in silver edible spray and the dove and banner were made of fondant.

The writing on the banner was royal icing and I painted it with silver luster dust and vodka to match the cross.
